Ali Hurmat Passed Away

September 25, 2011: (By Sher Shah) Renown social worker of Misgar Gojal Mr. Ali Hurmat passed away on 24th September 2011 evening. (Inna Lilahi wa Ina Ilyhi Rajioon) Ali Hurmat was approximately 80. May his soul reset in eternal peace. (Aameen)

Ali Hurmat was a great social worker and he had played a vital and leading role in the development of Misgar village. He was a multidimensional person. He had many skills e.g. Masonry, Carpentry and Sharma Weaving  etc. Through his skills, Ali Hurmat had contributed a lot in the construction of Jamat Khanas and other community buildings in Misgar Gojal. We present our tribute to him for his contribution to the valley.

WCSDOM Meet Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Gilgit

On August 3, 2009, Chairman WCSDOM Mir Aman Hunzai, Gen. Sec. Muhammad Ayaz Khan and Advisor Tourism WCSDOM Saeed Jan met Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Ghulam Muhammad in his office at Gilgit. During discussion DFO called Mr. Mayuor Khan WCS representative and get details about the aims and objectives of WCS and its projects. Although WCSDOM is already in contact with Mr. Mayour Khan but he again explain and stressed to strengthen the local communities with the involvement of respective government departments. DFO Mr. Ghulam Muhammad appreciated the new effort of the young and educated members of the Misgar valley and assured his level best cooperation and support. He also explained and gave a brief introduction about different projects run under Wildlife department. He further said that Misgar is one the potential area in terms of wild life and other natural resources now its the local community that how it gets benefit of it. This is the need of the time to motivate thecommunity to accept and welcome projects and programes which are of their interest and benefit.

Dissemination of Website on Pamir Times

WCSDOM Members meet Secretary Tourism & Minerals N.As.

(By Mir Aman Hunzai) A team of WCSDOM consists on Mir Aman Hunzai, Mr. Ikram Muhammad and Mr. Saeed Jan met the Secretary Tourism and Minirals in his office and discussed various issues related to the tourism and natural resources in the Misgar valley. Secretary Tourism and Minirals appreciated the efforts of the young and educated blood and assured his every support and cooperation to flourish and enhance the tourism related activities and mines and minirals in the future so that the local community may get optimum benefit from those hidden natural resources. He stressed up on the community to show their unity and far sightness while dealing with any company in any matter. He also agreed to streamline all illegal work done in the past due to un-known factors and because few years back the community was not aware of the high importance of the natural resources. Debriefing on Various Development Activities

(By Mir Aman Hunzai) A joint meeting of WCSDOM committee and Advisory based in Gilgit was held on Friday April 3, 2009 at Zulfiqar Abad ubder the chairmanship of Mukhi Saheb Hasil Murad. Almost all members and advisroy attended the meeting. Objective of this meeting was to inform the house about the development and progress of the Misgar visit. All points were shared in detail and the house applauded the efforts of team members visited Misgar and stressed up on the committee to keep their commitment strong and work more dedicatedly. Chair in his speech requested all participants of the meeting to strengthen the hands of the committee so that they may put their best possible personal and professional expertise to bring a visible change in near future. He expressed his full trust in committee and its working. A donation was also announced to purchase fodder for YAKS.

Committee and Advisory Visit to Misgar on Navroz

(by Mir Aman Hunzai) A six members team (including committee members and members from advisory) from Gilgit visited Misgar during March 17 to 23, 2009. Main objective of this visit to discuss issues related to Cattle Farm and other with the local community so as to find a way ahead for futher development. Team had a very hectic schedule and hold sessions with all segments of the community including youth, women, notables, members and the general public to bring all at one frequency which is the need of the hour for a sustainable development of the area.
